1970 Triumph Stag
Midnight Hot Rods has been commissioned to build this one-of-a-kind ride. Crash Customs will do the body and paint.
Gordon, the owner, now lives in Minneapolis. He is the epitome of a great customer. Born and raised in Scotland, he grew up working on this car with his Dad, reading magazines about American hot rods and going to Grand Prix-style Road Races with multi-carbed Ferraris and Carol Shelby Cobras. His original plan was to restore the iconic British vehicle back to its former glory. How things have changed!
After consulting with Steve here at the shop and Crash Customs, Gordon decided to go for a look that would go above and beyond any typical restoration.
The crew at Midnight Hot Rods are blending those influences to create a Triumph Supercar that pays tribute to performance history with a few modern updates. Midnight has designed and built a complete custom tube chassis in house, which is taking on the appearance of a piece of artwork!
Monsterous 4 wheel disc brakes, narrowed Corvette rear-end, custom Mustang II style front suspension, Chevy ZZ383-425 Crate Motor with aluminum fast-burn heads, a 4 Downdraft Weber Inglese intake, 6-speed manual transmission, and more trick mechanicals executed by Midnight Fabrication. All of this on a factory right-hand drive chassis.
This car is destined to be a real Head Turner and Show Stopper. Stay tuned for more updates and pictures as this car is transformed in to a Supercar.
